According to the 1990 Census, in the Byzantine-Latino Quarter 42 percent of the population 18 years old and over has less than 9 years of schooling, compared to 15 percent in Los Angeles County. Forty percent of the population has at least some High School, compared to 37 percent in the county. Furthe, a very small proportion of the population has at least some college compared to the regional figures - 18 percent vs. 48 percent (see Table 1).
