Critical Planning was founded in 1993 by the students of UCLA’s Urban Planning Department to serve as a forum for the urban studies and planning communities to debate current issues, showcase emerging research, and propose new ideas concerning cities and regions. Publishing one volume annually, Critical Planning reaches an international subscriber base of urban planning scholars, students, practitioners, libraries, bookstores, and enthusiasts. Volume 18, released in fall 2011, explores the theme of Migrations.
