Cecilia Estolano Receives 2009 UCLA Urban Planning Alumni Award

Thousands of UCLA alumni returned to campus on Saturday, May 9 for UCLA DAY, a day-long celebration of pride and accomplishments. Highlights of the day included panel discussions involving several School of Public Affairs faculty and fellows discussing issues of national and international interest. The day culminated in a reception for the School of Public Affairs community during which the departments of Social Welfare, Urban Planning, and Public Policy bestowed Alumni Achievement Awards to graduates of the respective programs.

On behalf of the the Department of Urban Planning, Brian Taylor, Chair of the Department of Urban Planning, presented the Urban Planning Alumni Award to Cecelia Estolano, MA '91. Ms. Estolano is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles, the largest redevelopment agency in the state of California.
