Analia E. Rao
Analia E. Rao is a Medical Social Worker and is currently Assistant Director at the UCLA Center for Policy Research on Aging, where she also serves as the Project Director for the Ford Foundation's Latino and Financial Security Project. Formerly, Analia has served as Assistant Director for the Ford Foundation's Latino Social Security Project. Analia was born in Argentina, where she received her Social Work degree from the Instituto Superior del Profesorado Junin in 1999 and her Licentiate in Social Work from Universidad del Salvador in 2001. After completing her degrees, the Buenos Aires Health Ministry awarded her a 3-year training fellowship in public health. She also held a position from 2000-2004 as a Field Liaison at the School of Social Work, Universidad del Salvador, Argentina where she supervised Social Work students in settings focused on Gerontological Social Work and Community-based agencies. In 2004 she moved to the United States and joined the UCLA Department of Social Welfare as a Visiting Scholar, where she later earned her M.S.W. Her areas of interest are: medical social work, social policy, gerontology and public health.
