A reception to welcome new UCLA School of Public Affairs Dean Franklin Gilliam, Jr. was held Oct. 7 in UCLA’s sculpture garden.

Hundreds turned out for the campus-wide event to recognize and celebrate the beginning of the new deanship of the School, the third since its founding in 1994. Faculty, students, staff, friends, family and members of the community were among the many guests. UCLA leaders including Chancellor Gene Block as well as a number of UCLA school deans also attended the event.

Scott Waugh, Acting Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, provided introductory remarks followed by comments from Dean Gilliam.
