The UCLA Policy Forum provides planning and analytical
services customized to meet the needs of public agencies, nonprofit organizations,
and private firms. These services include:
Data analysis and presentation: We present data in
clear tables and graphs, enabling users to better understand and use information,
which can be generated from either public data (e.g. census variables,
property data) or proprietary information, such as survey results.
Mapping analysis: We conduct geographic analysis using
GIS (Geographic information System) computer software, helping clients
to analyze information spatially. This application is very useful in both
planning and evaluating a wide variety of policy issues.
Website development: We consult with organizations
and agencies on how best to create or maintain a presence on the World
Wide Web. We specialize in Internet-Mapping, utilizing interactive GIS
software to present information geographically over the Internet, and
database-driven systems.
Information system design: We provide consultation
for the design of municipal information systems, especially those that
are to be efficient and open to the public.
Training: We conduct training on how to use the Internet
for neighborhood and public policy research and project implementation.
Conferences: We produce, plan and manage strategic
conferences around policy related issues such as: solid waste management,
welfare reform, regional economic development and environmental education.
