Policy:
The UCLA Juvenile Justice and Reentry Project will integrate research information from the field into policy that will improve the success of reentering youth. Under the direction of Dr. Alfreda Iglehart, the JJRP plans to conduct the following initial policy activities:
-
Invite and produce a series of innovative policy position papers on juvenile justice-related issues in Los Angeles. These papers may: respond to pending or recently passed local, state, or federal legislation; address policy issues affecting youth who move between systems (juvenile justice and child welfare); focus on the analysis, implementation, and/or evaluation of specific policies; and
- Convene and organize one policy forum per year that engages practitioners, researchers, policy makers, and other stakeholders.
